Liberalna pedagogika. Jerzy Szacki o polskim liberalizmie dawnym i współczesnym

Marta Bucholc

Abstract

The paper relates the views of Jerzy Szacki on the development and perspectives of liberalism in Poland presented in his book Liberalism after Communism (1994). The author of the paper sets Szacki’s considerations on liberalism in a broader context of how the very work of Szacki might be assessed. Thus, three types of Polish capitalism were distinguished: proto-capitalism; economic capitalism and political (integral) capitalism. In the analysis of the economic capitalism, a special emphasis was put by the author on the program created by its proponents (i.e. proponents of the social change) as well as the role of the Weberian inspirations in the “the liberal pedagogy” adopted by them.
