Abstract

The main aim of the text is to show the development of military sociology in Poland. Changes of the identity of this discipline have been presented along with its consequences. Development of military sociology in our country, primarily dependent on its social, historical, political and ideological background can be divided into some clearly specified periods. However, the scope of the study transcends prior contributions frames by examining the beginnings of military sociology in the Interwar period. Final conclusions contain an attempt to answer some questions concerning possible directions of future development of knowledge in this field of Polish sociological thought.
