Muzyka w koncepcjach klasyków socjologii i ich recepcja w Polsce

Abstract

Sociology of music as a not fully developed field of study, especially in Poland seems to have strong ‘personal’ basis for scientific existence. Because we can find in works of international classics of sociology musical plots. Herbert Spencer, Georg Simmel and Max Weber dealt with music sociologically. Also others (non-classics, but wellknown) scientists like Th eodor Adorno or Howard Backer were writing in this subject. In this text I will have a look on ideas about music shown in works of the classics of sociology and also I will note reception of those ideas in Polish sociology of music.
