Historia a socjologia. Wybrane problemy i perspektywy współpracy

Krzysztof Jaskułowski

Abstract

Article discusses selected obstacles that are in the way of cooperation between historiography and sociology. The starting point is to show some historical sources of these problems. The author focuses on an ideographic analysis of historiography as developed in the 19th century Prussia. For a long time, this study model was a standard of methodological correctness, and made it diffi cult for historians to cooperate with other social scientists, including sociologists. In this context, the role of the Annales school is presented , but also the importance of historical sociology for convergence between history and historiography. The text ends with the discussion how even an ideography oriented historian can benefit from sociological knowledge and methods.
